Today we read in the newspapers: "coprifuoco"

Due to the pandemic, today we read in the newspapers: "Possibile coprifuoco in Italia" 

 

Coprire ✋ (to cover) + il fuoco 🔥 (the fire) = coprifuoco / curfew (anglicized from the Old French covrefeu).

Origin: in medieval times it was the imposition to extinguish any fire, lamp or lantern to prevent night fires.
